![]() ![]() We were told that it would be upgraded automatically sometime after a year, not exactly at a year and that they again had no control over it. A year passed and I contacted them again. They told me that they have no control on upgrading accounts and that it is done automatically after a year. Six months passed and I contacted Wells Fargo to try and get our account upgraded like we were told we could do. We deposited a cashiers check from our previous bank into the checking account for the opening in the amount of $1700 and they placed a hold on it for 14 days, even though it was from another national bank. We closed the account as soon as we could. He ended up signing us up for one anyways without our knowledge, and even setting up $25 a month automatic deposits from our linked checking account. The person signing us up for the account also asked us if we wanted a savings account with the bank as well, but we declined several times due to already having a savings account with a much higher interest rate elsewhere. Final word? Stay as far away from Wells Fargo as you can get. When this nightmare is over, I will not only close my account with these lying and rude incompetents, I am going to encourage all my family members to do the same. WF customer disservice rep refuses to tell me what's going on, where my stocks are, when I can get them back, tells me I'm just going to have to wait for WF to give up the stocks it's been sitting on for over three months now, saying only, "I've answered your question." I point out that she hasn't she hangs up. Oh, but we cashed your check for $35 anyway." Well, what? "That information we told you that you needed to get from a line item report? It isn't part of the line item report. Wait, here's another letter! "You need to send a $35 research fee to have your request answered." This sounds to me like extortion, but the stocks total thousands of dollars (and would have totaled more, given the bull run that's going on, if WF hadn't sent them into limbo!) so I send in the check. Do I get what I asked for? No, I get two invitations to open a new account with WF. "How do I get that information?" "You need to submit a request for a line-item report." "Those funds are with the state of Oregon." "Actually, I have a representative from the state of Oregon on the phone with me, and she is flatly denying everything you say." "You need to provide certain information (the amount on the report issued sending the shares to the State). In the meantime, Wells Fargo has given me non-information, misinformation, conflicting information, a huge runaround, put me on hold for longer than they've spent on the phone with me, and a lot of attitude. ![]()
